With the closure of a 60 kilometer section of the A-40 Autobahn, one of Europe’s busiest motorways, the Ruhr Region hosted a gigantic party throughout the afternoon. Local media estimate that between two and three million people took advantage of the six-hour shut-down, with hundreds of thousands of cyclists and in-line skaters joining the hordes of pedestrians.

Camera stamps!

This photo was taken with a $45 point-and-shoot, and it wasn’t by an astronaut sitting in a space shuttle!

Two regular guys sent their cheapoid camera 27 miles up into the sky by attaching it to a balloon! Duct tapes n’ elbow grease is all it takes sometimes, kids (see our DIY balloon tutorial!).

Interesting… I saw this on a paper towel dispenser at the Flying Scotsman in Mt Lawley today and was curious enough to google it. I wanted to know the merits of the sticker claiming to save 100lbs of paper towels just by using the sticker.

Intriguing. Much to think about.
